Not all attempts to authorise a payment end up with an authorisation. An unsuccessful attempt may be caused by a long list of things. Some of them are:
- The customer is out of money.
- He or she has made a typing error when typing in the card number
- His or her card has been blocked
- And so on.
When an authorisation fails to go through, DIBS receive an error code from the acquirer.
The error statistics give you an overview of these error codes. The colours next to each error code match the colour in the pie chart at the top of the screen.
Finally, at the bottom you will find an overview of how many payment attempts that fail compared to the total amount of authorisations. You can use this function as an indication of whether or not your customers understand the payment directions on your home page.
