PayPal gives you the quick and easy access to credit and debit card payments online without programming involved. Du can access the most common credit and debit cards without the customer needs to have their own PayPal account.
How to get started.
- In order to accept PayPal payments you will need to open a PayPal Business Account. Payments from your customers are collected to this account and you can transfers these funds to your own bank account.
- As PayPal is already integrated to DIBS, there is no development work for you. You only need to configure your PayPal account and activate it in your DIBS interface.
- Your PayPal account has built in limits for sending and receiving. PayPal is a bank and is therefore required by EU law to have specific information about merchants of a certain size, thus the limits. You can get started and sell up to a certain amount without raising those limits, but it is a good idea to raise the limits directly so you do not need to spend time on that when you approach higher volumes.

Language display in relation to PayPal payments
If you offer PayPal payments, your customers may have received the following enquiry: Why am I directed from a payment window in my local language, to PayPal in a different language?
PayPal manages language display as follows:
- If the customer has previously used PayPal, their browser may have saved a cookie that includes language information,. The cookie data is prioritized over the Payment Windows data.
- If such a cookie does not exist, PayPal uses the country in the shipping address.
- In cases where no country is given in the shipping address, PayPal uses the language of the payment window. However, this feature is currently not supported, but will be soon.
- If none of the above apply, PayPal defaults to English.
